![]() artistry affair, but I feel like I've failed if I complete this sonata and it doesn't even scratch the surface of what's required to play my favorite pieces. Of course the layperson would see me play it and go "wow that looks hard" but seriously, it doesn't seem to compare at all to the technical might required to execute a fantastic Chopin Scherzo or a Liszt etude, or even another Beethoven sonata such as the Waldstein, Appassionata, and Hammerklavier. The Pathetique is right at my level, and I've been moving through it at a respectable pace, but I'm wondering now if it's even that difficult of an endeavor by someone else's standards. I ask this because, as someone mentioned in a previous thread of mine, Beethoven's Pathetiqe does not compare in difficulty at all to the harder romantic reperoire such as harder works by Chopin. ![]()
